1. Deeply experienced:
(a) in the independent setting of accounting standards domestically (AASB) and internationally (IASB);
(b) as a senior technical partner (Stevenson McGregor, PwC, Coopers & Lybrand).

2. Experienced in creating or rebuilding technical functions in a large firm, own firm and in standard-setting, as well as in the academe;

3. Recognised for technical expertise in a wide range of accounting issues. Topical expertise includes - IFRS vs US GAAP, conceptual frameworks, public sector and NFP accounting, measurement, business combinations, foreign currency translation, accounting in the extractive industries, accounting structured finance and entities, revenue recognition and lease accounting.

4. Experienced in litigation support.

5. Significantly experienced in financial reporting across the various sectors, including the public and not-for-profit private sectors.

6. Very well known to international and regional standard-setters and regulators (including the IASB (international), FASB (US), SEC (US), EFRAG (Europe), ASBJ (Japan), KASB (Korea), CSRC and MOF (China)).

7. Has worked as a consultant (eg for ADB and AusAid) in capacity building in Nepal (development of professional body and standards), Thailand (public sector accounting) and Brunei (IFRS training).
